Steel Industries is excited to announce the arrival of our new state-of-the-art Framecad 450iT. This high performance machine will provide a significant boost to the manufacturing capacity of the business.
The 450iT uses Cold Formed Steel (CFS) technology to produce framing and trusses for heavy residential and light commercial buildings. This technology involves rolling a flat steel strip into a ‘C’ profile and automatically adds notches, chamfers, swages, dimpled screw holes, bolt holes, and service holes based on a CAD design loaded into the machine. This means a complete frame or truss can be simply screwed together on site.
Steel Industries has been operating a similar machine – the FrameCAD 300i, for the last 10 years. The 300i produces an 89×40 ‘C’ profile that is particularly suited to single and double storey houses, general wall frames and light-weight trusses.
The new 450iT machine produces a 150 x 50 profile with a thickness of up to 1.55mm, allowing us to handle bigger projects like complete framing kits for multi-storey buildings, large span trusses, flooring systems, large unsupported wall frames and many more.
Coils of thickness 0.95, 1.15 and 1.55mm are held in stock and production can be done for a single ‘stick’ up to a multi-storey building kit and anything in between.
